Why Your Geographical Location Should Influence Your Bathroom Renovation

There are many ways in which you can design your bathroom. Simply type: ‘Bathrooms’ into Google and find yourself presented with thousands upon thousands of different pictures, each detailing a different style and approach. That is why the Bathroom Renovation process can be so incredibly daunting; because there is simply so much for you to choose from.

Ultimately the best way to figure out which style, design and décor is right for you, is by going with your initial gut instinct – but be sure to give it some thought just in case. Typically you can look at a particular style or image and know instantaneously that it is what you desire for you home, though that doesn’t always necessarily make it either practical or affordable.

All you need to do is look at a picture of Kanye West’s bathroom and you’ll start haemorrhaging money! We all have an idea of what our perfect bathroom is, but it is important to be realistic – and it’s not all about budget either.

Temperature and how it influences colour schemes

If you are ever passing through Western Australia, you will notice that the majority of the bathrooms follow a very similar colour scheme; Perth Bathrooms for example, with the WA city’s yearly average temperature of 25 Celsius can afford to use more colder and clinical colours all year round. If you are actually taking a walk down Basildon road, being one of the main shopping high streets in Lesmurdie, take a look in the various bathroom showrooms and you will see what I mean – cool blues and crisp whites are almost an essentiality if you are to feel truly refreshed in your bathroom.

Then on the flipside, for those who live in colder climates – a more appropriate style may call for warmer colours such as red, orange or hot pink. Colours emit a temperature related optical illusion – white’s and blues will give you the feeling of being cool, where as a hot orange will irrefutably warm your heart and make the colder temperature feel all the more bearable.

The same applies to outdoor bathrooms of course – in many countries an outdoor bathroom is a terrible idea, where as in other places it can be an absolute treasure. I’m not sure how I feel about having an outdoors bathroom in Perth though; I’ve heard too many horror stories about snakes and spiders!

Plan your bathroom renovation thoroughly

It’s important to plan the entire process thoroughly, as the last thing you want is to spend your budget and invest a great deal of your time only to find that you have made a grave error. Certain features in your bathroom may be easy enough to fix and replace, though for the most part it is no simple task – plan every stage of the procedure with care and caution and shouldn’t have any issues in the long run, whatsoever.

This means identifying how much space you have to play with, which colour schemes will work the best, what vibe and style you would like to settle with and how much money you are prepared to spend. Take your time and enjoy the process as best you can; renovating your bathroom is only as stressful as you allow it to be. You are in charge.
